Getting Started
Creating an account is easy! Click the "Sign Up" button in the top navigation, fill in your details (name, email, password), and verify your email address. Once verified, you can start browsing tours and guides immediately.
Traveler accounts are for people who want to book tours and find guides. Guide accounts are for licensed tour guides who want to list their services and receive bookings. During registration, you'll select your role. Guides will need to complete additional verification steps.
Yes, email verification is required for security purposes. After signing up, check your inbox (and spam folder) for a verification email. Click the link in the email to activate your account. If you don't receive the email, you can request a new verification link.
Booking Tours
- Browse tours or search for a specific guide
- Click on a tour that interests you
- Select your preferred date and number of participants
- Fill in your contact details and any special requirements
- Submit your booking request
- The guide will receive your request and can accept or decline it
- You'll receive an email confirmation once the guide accepts
Yes, you can cancel a booking, but cancellation policies vary by tour. Check the tour's cancellation policy before booking. Generally, you can cancel through your dashboard. Some tours offer full refunds if cancelled within a certain timeframe, while others may have cancellation fees.
Payment methods vary by guide and tour. Common options include:
- Cash on arrival - Pay directly to the guide when you meet
- Online payment - PayPal or other payment processors
- Bank transfer - Direct transfer to the guide's account
If a guide cancels your booking, you'll be notified immediately via email. Any payments made will be refunded according to the guide's cancellation policy. You can then search for alternative tours or guides for your preferred dates.
For Tour Guides
- Create an account and select "Guide" as your role
- Complete your guide profile with professional information
- Upload required documents:
- Government-issued ID
- Tour guide license
- Professional photo
- Submit your profile for review
- Our admin team will verify your credentials (usually within 2-3 business days)
- Once approved, you can start creating and listing tours!
EgyptTourGuide charges a 5% commission on each successful booking. This is deducted from the total booking amount. For example, if a tour costs $100, you'll receive $95 and EgyptTourGuide receives $5. This commission helps us maintain the platform, provide customer support, and market your services.
Once your guide profile is approved:
- Go to your Guide Dashboard
- Click "My Tours" and then "Create New Tour"
- Fill in all tour details:
- Title, description, and itinerary
- Location and duration
- Pricing and group size
- Upload photos
- Set availability
- Submit for review
- Your tour will be published once approved
All booking management is done through your Guide Dashboard:
- View bookings - See all booking requests in one place
- Accept/Decline - Respond to booking requests
- Filter - Filter by status, date, or confirmation status
- Mark Complete - After completing a tour, mark it as complete
- Track Revenue - See your earnings and booking statistics
Account & Profile
Go to your profile settings (click your name in the top navigation → Settings). From there, you can update your personal information, change your password, update your profile photo, and modify other account settings. For guides, you can also update your professional information and tour listings.
On the login page, click "Forgot Password?" and enter your email address. You'll receive an email with a link to reset your password. If you don't receive the email, check your spam folder or contact our support team.
Yes, you can delete your account by contacting our support team. Note that deleting your account will permanently remove your profile, tours (for guides), and booking history. Make sure to cancel any active bookings before deleting your account.
Technical Support
Try these troubleshooting steps:
- Clear your browser cache and cookies
- Try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
- Check your internet connection
- Disable browser extensions that might interfere
- Try accessing the site in incognito/private mode
Photo upload issues can be caused by:
- File size - Ensure images are under 10MB
- File format - We support JPG, PNG, and WebP formats
- Browser - Try a different browser or update your current one
- Internet speed - Slow connections may cause upload failures
